    Providing of the vitality of steel frames of high-rise buildings under action of fire

    High-rise buildings are sensitive to progressive collapse – when the local destruction leads to the collapse of the entire building or disproportionately large part of it. Current Ukrainian norms are requiring the vitality of high-rise buildings under the action of unidentified factors and, since 2017, - under the action of fire, which is considered in this article.

    Stress-strain state of beam corrugated web under patch loading

    It’s presented results of numerical investigation via the finite elements method (FEM) of stress-strain state of beam corrugated web under local load action in its plane. It’s concluded that the values of local normal stresses at the level of the web and the flange connection are directly dependent on the web thickness, the flexural and the longitudinal rigidity of the flanges and virtually don’t depend on the web height. A practical technique for determining the limit values of local normal stresses in the web and its stress-strain state is developed.

    Buckling of the steel frames with the I-shaped cross-section columns of variable web height

    Presented is the research of the stability of portal frames made of variable I cross-sections, depending on supports fastening factors and frames elements unfastening. In the process of mathematical research examined were five different cases of fixing columns nodes of portal frames resiliently mounted in each case, the stability criteria having been defined. In addition, conducted were studies to determine the coefficients of the portal frames elements effective length calculation in finding critical load on the column. Coefficients of the effective length factor of the welded variable I cross-section columns have been obtained. The influence of brace systems on stiffening of the whole structure, stability of the unit frames as well as the overall stability of the building with computer simulation and calculation have been studied, the coefficients of the influence of the frame structure on the stability of the unit frames having been obtained.
